Why I love Apple…
So I will be the first to admit the iPad2 event today was not that big of a deal for me today. I will admit though I LOVE the hype that an Apple event brings I just wasn’t that shock and awed at the unveiling. So with that in mind I decided to check Apple.com later and see what the iPad2 was all about. I came across the original iPad pricing and was floored to see Apple drop the price the way they did. I immediately realized that my real draw to the iPad was a retina screen and having a dual camera and a thinner body wasn’t worth the extra $100 it would cost and the inevitable waiting in line. So I ordered the original iPad, brand new for $399. Like an idiot I didn’t think at the time to look at the refurbished ones. Come to find out they were even lower, $349! Being that I know Apple’s standards for refurbishing a product are top notch I thought what the heck, I’ll save another $50 bucks and change my order. I called up Apple Online Sales and told the friendly lady I wanted to change my order I placed five hours ago to a refurbished 16GB iPad. She informed me that my order was already processed and that she could make a note to return the item and send me a pre paid return stamp and waive the restocking fee. Being the lazy individual I am I wasn’t going to go through that for $50. I told her that’s fine it’s not worth it and she then said; “well, what I can do for you Mr. Gray is credit you the expedited shipping charge you paid which was $12 and also not charge you for the Apple iPad case which was $39.” Shocked I said; “wow that would be great thank you”. All in all another very happy Apple customer and I have to admit Apple not only gets their products they get their customer. Sure they are not losing much by clearing out dare I say “old” iPad accessories but whatever the case I’m happy. Kudos Apple.
